About the trip:

Depart for the Sights and Sounds of Broadway in New York City,
truly an experience of a life time. This is your opportunity to
learn from real professional in Broadway Theater. Explore
different styles in performance, choreography, vocals, in musical
and theatre productions. Take part in question and answer
sessions with Broadway working professionals. All the
workshops in this experience are designed to show you what it
takes to work on Broadway.

Day 1- 1/15 Monday
Today we depart Village Christian School and fly to New York
City staying next to Times Square.
Day 2 1/16 Tuesday
Begin the morning in your first workshop with Broadway
Choreographers. This workshop is designed to learn different
combinations and styles of dancing. Get your shoes ready! Time
will be given to introduce you to callback procedures and how to
get a job in this profession. After lunch, we depart on a city tour
of Manhattan to be narrated by a local guide. Tour sights
include Uptown, Downtown, Eastside, Westside and all around
the Town, including Madison Square Garden, the Flatiron
building, Greenwich Village, So-Ho, Little Italy and more.
Tonight enjoy your first of three Broadway plays.
Itinerary
Day 3 1/17 Wednesday
This morning a professional performer will teach a musical number (lyric and music) of a current
Broadway Show. Conducted in a Broadway studio, vocals and or choreography will be rehearsed by
Broadway performers as they would run a professional rehearsal. Questions and Answer session
with the performers will follow the rehearsal. Then we visit Rockefeller Center. Enjoy the scenic
views the city from the Top of the Rock and a tour of the Radio City Music Hall.
This evening enjoy a second major Broadway show.
Day 4 1/18 Thursday
Today’s workshop is call “Broadway Beat,” a sixteen-bar master class demonstrates how to make
the most of an open audition a when the performer is only given a limited amount of time. This
class is structured as an audition with an emphasis on vocal technique focus and being specific
with the actor’s materials. Later, enjoy Wicked: Behind the Emerald Curtain. – Gives you insights
and first-hand accounts of how a new musical is created and sustained. Get up close and personal
with Tony Award-winner Susan Hilferty’s costumes and view Tony Award-winner Eugene Lee’s
intricate set model. Some of the current cast members of Wicked will also be on hand for a question
-and-answer session. In the evening, enjoy your third Broadway Musical.
Day 5 1/19 Friday
Your final Broadway workshop called “Audition Workshop”. Cold reading, monologues, and the
presentation of entering a room are some of the elements touched upon in this master class for
actors, Broadway or Film professionals. Giving you inside knowledge and discussions on what
producers casting directors are looking for and how to improve. Then it’s off to the airport to return
home from this once in a lifetime Broadways experience.
