Day 1 April 12 Today we board our flight to Houston, Texas, the headquarters of NASA and numerous corporations. This city is the fourth largest city in the US and is thriving in technology and science. Overnight: Houston

Day 2 April 13 We start our day with a visit to the NASA Johnson Space Center. The NASA Tram Tour offers a behind-the-scenes look at NASA to experience the Starship Gallery, Independence Plaza, Rocket Park and Astronaut Gallery. Then a city tour of Houston, including historic City Hall, Market Square, and The Houston Heritage Society. Enjoy a welcome dinner as we get to know our fellow travelers. (B,D) Overnight: Houston

Day 3 April 14 Today we journey to Austin, the “Live Music Capital of the World.” On the way we will visit Bastrop, “The Most Historic Small Town in Texas.” This town is filled with buildings on the National Register of Historic Places and originally served as a meeting place for the Native American tribes in the area. Bastrop has a rich history of Classic Texas. (B) Overnight: Austin

Day 4 April 15 Austin features a quirky, laid-back atmosphere that you won’t find in other Texas cities. Wacky characters, but Austinites proudly flaunt the city’s motto, “Keep Austin Weird.” A city tour of Austin, includes historic Sixth Street, the Texas Capital complex, Governor’s Mansion, and the University of Texas. Dinner tonight along the waterfront with the best BBQ that Texas is known for—so come with a big appetite. (B,D) Overnight: Austin

Day 5 April 16 This morning we take a drive to the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park, “known as the Texas White House,” where he spent 80% of his time here and 20% of his time in the White House office. This ranch is the birthplace, home, ranch and final resting place of Lyndon B. Johnson. Next we travel to the German Village of Fredericksburg, where we visit the National Museum of the Pacific. Dedicated to telling the story of WWll in the Pacific, this museum presents artifacts and displays with the glitz of a Hollywood blockbuster. We continue our journey to San Antonio, known for its famous River Walk, where we will enjoy the beautiful shops and restaurants as we cruise along the river in an open barge with an exciting and entertaining narrative of the rich history of the San Antonio River. You will have time to explore the River Walk on your own. (B) Overnight: San Antonio

Day 6 April 17 We begin today’s journey to the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, which is part of an UNESCO World Heritage Site preserving four of the five Spanish frontier missions in San Antonio. From there we visit the El Mercado, an area patterned after an authentic Mexican market. Working artists, musicians, dancers and major cultural events give it a rich and lively cultural atmosphere. Then it’s off to San Fernando Cathedral, the first church built in San Antonio. This church is the oldest standing church in Texas, and one of the oldest cathedrals in the US listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Then we tour The Alamo, Texas’ most visited and famous historic landmark. (B, D) Overnight in San Antonio

Day 7 April 18 We begin the morning exploring the San Antonio Fiesta Arts Fair. This Fair showcases the contemporary art of more than 100 artists from across the United States, and features works in a variety of media; including metal, ceramics, glass, painting, photography, textures and jewelry. (B) Overnight in San Antonio.

Day 8 April 19 After Breakfast its off to the San Antonio airport and our flight home. Along the way, we reminisce about the wonderful sights and entertainment we enjoyed along the way, in this big state of Texas, and all the lasting memories we have of the unique and fun places we visited. (B)
